TAISHO YAKITORI is the perfect compromise between a restaurant and a bar. The Izakaya-style establishment offers a cozy atmosphere for drinks and high-quality Japanese tapas. Established in 2009, TAISHO Yakitori prides itself on the authentic Japanese grilled chicken skewers.
TAISHO offers a cozy atmosphere for you to enjoy our skewers, which are not only limited to chicken, but includes other meats and vegetables as well. We use Binchotan charcoal and select the finest meats and vegetables to serve you the most authentic Yakitori, fresh off the grill.


Yakitori

Yakitori are Japanese-style grilled chicken skewers most commonly grilled over Binchotan charcoal. Bite-size pieces of chicken, including the giblets, are held together by a bamboo skewer and served hot, right off the gill. Although Yakitori is literally translated as “grilled chicken”. Other type of skewers, using other meats or vegetables, exist as well.


Binchotan

Binchotan charcoal is an essential aspect of Japanese grilled cuisine. The charcoal is a traditional charcoal of Japan, made from oak. Its uniquely low burning temperature along with the fact that it does no release smoke or unpleasant odours creates the perfect grilling conditions for Yakitori.
